Assassination of John F. Kennedy

The fatal shooting of John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas, on 1963-11-22, an event whose disputed circumstances have generated official findings, competing witness testimony, and speculation linking it to Cold War-era space policy and later intelligence and political figures.

1963-11-22 · Dallas, Texas, US

John Fitzgerald Kennedy died in Dallas, Texas, on 1963-11-22, ten days after issuing National Security Action Memorandum #271.1 According to Richard C. Hoagland and Mike Bara, Lee Harvey Oswald was in Dallas on the morning of the assassination, in the Texas School Book Depository’s sixth-floor window, and fired at Kennedy.2 In the official account, J. D. Tippit was killed in the line of duty by Oswald a short time afterwards,3 and both Oswald and Tippit were dead within twenty-four hours of the assassination.4

Gordon Arnold said he was in full army uniform, including a pointed overseas cap, filming with his mother’s camera on the day of the assassination.5 The Marie Muchmore film of the shooting shows both the “babushka lady,” Beverly Oliver, and Mary Moorman, whose photograph of the scene is catalogued as the Mary Moorman Photograph, using their cameras at the instant Kennedy was struck by the fatal shot.6

E. Howard Hunt, a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operative involved in the Watergate scandal, has long been rumoured to have been a key player in the assassination.7 In a story published in Rolling Stone, Saint John Hunt said his father, E. Howard Hunt, admitted on tape to being one of the “three tramps” photographed in Dealey Plaza afterwards.8 According to In Plain Sight, Gordon Novel gave New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison a CIA-Cuban-emigre link to the assassination, claiming that while working for the CIA he had known both Oswald and Jack Ruby, the man who killed him.9 Ross Coulthart described Novel as a covert operator with strong CIA connections who repeatedly appeared in the background of major events over decades, including the assassination, Watergate, the Iran-Contra scandal, Michael Jackson, and the aftermath of the 1993 Waco siege.10 Novel’s son, Sur Novel, recalled that his father was involved with people connected to Watergate and was politically connected with black operations before those ties were cut for conducting domestic operations the CIA had not tasked him to do.11

Nikita Khrushchev’s son, Sergei Khrushchev, recalled walking with his father as they discussed the elder Khrushchev’s decision, placing its timing at about a week before the assassination, around 1963-11-12 to 1963-11-15.12 Kennedy was killed approximately two months after his September 1963 proposal to the United Nations for a joint lunar expedition with the Soviets.13 Hoagland has speculated that Kennedy’s proposal to share the lunar programme with the Soviet Union, negotiated with Khrushchev, may have led to his assassination.14 Only nine successful Apollo missions to and from the Moon were carried out after Kennedy’s death, of which six were landings.15 On 1966-11-22, three years to the day from the assassination, NASA released a Lunar Orbiter 2 image of the Moon showing the area near the crater Cayley B in Mare Tranquillitatis.16 Hoagland has also raised the question of whether Apollo was Kennedy’s ultimate “deep black mission,” undertaken at the start of his administration, and whether his knowledge of it was the real reason for his assassination.17 According to Dark Mission, Kennedy was killed immediately after his repeated offer to share “the priceless Nazi heritage” with the Russians was finally accepted.18

In 1993, William J. Clinton’s Associate Attorney General, Webster Hubbell, said he was asked by the president to find out all he could about who killed Kennedy and whether UFOs are real.19 Steven Greer has said that when he sent a briefing document to Clinton, the response he received was that the president could not get anywhere with UFOs and did not want to push the issue, because a close friend of his had told him he would end up assassinated like Kennedy.20 David Charles Grusch, a former intelligence officer, has said that the JFK assassination records release was made without explanation of what the material means, and that he has still not reached a conclusion about what happened to Kennedy or whether the CIA and organised crime killed him.21 Michael Horn has said that as early as 1953, Asket gave contactee Billy Meier prophecies that two brothers running for president in America would be assassinated, naming that Kennedy would be killed in Dallas, Texas.22

  9. Novel's claimed CIA-Cuban link via Oswald and Ruby, given to Garrison.

And then he was involved with these guys that were doing the Watergate shit and you know, up until Watergate, he was politically connected with the black ops and then those guys all kinda got wiped out because they were doing domestic operations in the US and that's not what the CIA is tasked to do.'”
