Anomalica is designed to respect visitor privacy. This page explains what data is collected, how it is used, and what rights visitors have.
Analytics
Anomalica uses GoatCounter, a privacy-respecting, open-source web analytics tool. GoatCounter does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not fingerprint devices.
The following aggregate data is collected:
- Pages visited
- Referring website (where you came from)
- Country-level location (derived from IP address, which is not stored)
- Browser type and screen size
This data is used to understand how the site is used and to prioritise content. It cannot be used to identify individual visitors.
GoatCounter is self-hosted on European Union infrastructure. No analytics data is shared with third parties.
Cookies
Anomalica does not set cookies. A visitor’s dark mode and unit preferences are stored in the browser’s local storage. This data never leaves the visitor’s device and is not accessible to Anomalica.
Consent
Because Anomalica does not use cookies and does not collect personal data, no consent banner is required under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the ePrivacy Directive. Visitors are not tracked, identified, or profiled.
Fonts
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which may log requests according to its own privacy policy. No other third-party services are loaded on the page.
Knowledge graph
The downloadable knowledge graph contains information extracted from publicly available source documents. It does not contain personal data about site visitors.
Data subject rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), individuals have the right to access, rectify, and erase their personal data. Because Anomalica does not collect personal data, there is no data to access, rectify, or erase.
If you believe Anomalica holds personal data about you, or if you have questions about this policy, contact privacy@anomalica.is.
