Blink-182

Blink-182 is an American rock band whose former lead singer, Tom DeLonge, left in 2015 partly to focus on researching unidentified aerial phenomena.

Blink-182 is an American rock band. Its front man was Tom DeLonge.¹ By 1999, as the band’s lead singer, DeLonge had become a megastar, packing stadiums full of fans across the United States and around the world.²

In June 1999 Blink-182 released their album Enema of the State, whose cover featured pornographic actress Janine Lindemulder in a nurse’s uniform.³ John Lydon, the former Sex Pistols singer known as Johnny Rotten, said that he dismissed Blink-182 as “a bunch of silly boys."⁴

DeLonge developed an interest in the UFO subject from a very young age, with footage of him discussing it possibly predating the band’s formation.⁵ Jason Samosa said that DeLonge stated on podcasts that he had met the people managing the UFO subject and that they had begun speaking to him.⁶

DeLonge quit Blink-182 in 2015,⁷ a move that put the band on indefinite hiatus and was driven in part by his wish to focus on researching UAP.⁸ This departure is recorded as the 2015 Tom DeLonge departure from Blink-182. Shortly before leaving, DeLonge was invited to an open house for families of a top defence aerospace contracting company, where he served as master of ceremonies and introduced a lead aerospace executive.⁹
