Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

KLAS-TV is a television station based in USA, Nevada, Las Vegas.1 It is closely associated with the UAP topic through the work of investigative journalist George Knapp, who has worked for the station for 40 years and has broken numerous UAP-related stories during that time.2

The station’s best-known contribution to the subject came in 1989, when Bob Lazar went public in an interview with Knapp, broadcast on KLAS-TV, in which Lazar anonymously asserted that he had worked on a recovered craft at a facility he described as Site 4 (S-4), located near USA, Nevada, Papoose Lake adjacent to USA, Nevada, Area 51.3 This broadcast is recorded as the 1989 Bob Lazar KLAS interview.

KLAS-TV’s handling of the Harry Reid memo to William Lynn III on Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) Special Access Program status (2009-07-24) has also drawn attention: one page of the memo, as released by the station, shows the names of Luis Elizondo and Harold E. Puthoff redacted, for reasons that are not documented.4

Knapp’s own connection to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) reporting extended into his personal finances. He said that he made public his stock purchase in To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science (TTSA) and informed his employer at KLAS-TV of the purchase.5
