LLC Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies

Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies, LLC (BAASS) was a private company owned by Robert Bigelow that served as the primary contractor for the Pentagon-funded Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program and related Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program work studying unidentified aerial phenomena.

Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies, LLC (BAASS) was a company owned by Robert Bigelow¹ that served as the primary contractor firm for the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP)². BAASS initially won the contract covering both AAWSAP and the related Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) work.³ Much of the United States Pentagon’s funding for the UAP investigation went to Bigelow’s company.⁴

To staff the effort, Bigelow hired several scientists who had earlier worked on his decade-long private National Institute for Discovery Science investigations.⁵ Colm Kelleher, a biochemist, served as BAASS’s deputy administrator during AAWSAP.⁶

According to In Plain Sight, in 2009 Harry Reid sought Special Access Program status for AATIP in the 2009 Harry Reid Special Access Program request for Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) because BAASS investigators had already tracked down secret project codenames pointing to a purported secret UAP programme hidden within the US government and private aerospace industry, allegedly still attempting to re-engineer recovered alien technology.⁷

Eric Davis told George Knapp, discussing his work on the BAASS Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) contract, that there were indeed recovered extra-terrestrial craft, information about which had not yet been revealed or published.⁸ Luis Elizondo said that the names and contact information of civilian eyewitnesses had been stripped from records before submission to the government, but that the redacted reports had been uploaded to United States Department of Defense (DoD) databases by someone in the AAWSAP government chain of command rather than by BAASS.⁹ A biological sample collected in 2018 was very similar in appearance to other samples collected earlier by the BAASS team.¹⁰
