Tim Burchett, Matt Gaetz, Anna Paulina Luna and Eric Burlison visited USA, Florida, Eglin Air Force Base to seek answers about Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).1 Gaetz had sought a briefing about the incident at Eglin and brought Burchett and Luna with him.2 Burchett said that without Gaetz’s involvement, he, Luna and Burlison would still be at Eglin trying to get answers about UAP.3
Luna was one of several members waived onto the House Subcommittee by Glenn Grothman to participate in the House Hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (2023-07-26), alongside Burchett, Gaetz, Burlison, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Andrew Ogles.4 According to the hearing’s record, Representatives Luna, Burlison, Gaetz, Burchett, James Comer, Ogles, Nick Langworthy, Jamie Raskin and Ocasio-Cortez were present.5 Grothman thanked Burchett and Luna for bringing UAP to the attention of the United States House Committee on Oversight and Accountability.6
During the hearing, Luna described how, while serving as an active-duty service member working on an airfield, she had spoken with pilots who feared coming forward about UAP sightings, worried about retribution or being taken off flight status.7 Members of United States Congress were denied access to a classified briefing in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility ahead of the hearing, due to the requirements needed to grant David Charles Grusch temporary clearance to testify.8 Grusch has knowledge of classified information.9
Luna also cited polling data during the hearing: she said one survey found that 68 percent of Americans believe the government is hiding information about UAP and is not being honest about what it knows,10 and another found that nearly half of Americans believe the federal government is doing a very bad or somewhat bad job of dealing with reports of Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) sightings.11 Over 20 percent of Americans have reported having seen UFOs or UAP.12 Luna said that on 2023-04-19, Sean Kirkpatrick, then head of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, stated that he had not found any evidence of unidentified anomalous phenomena.13
At the 2024 United States congressional hearing on UAPs (13 November), Luna asked Luis Elizondo whether it is likely that non-human biologics piloting aircraft are connected via a mind-body connection.14 Luna has since chaired a congressional hearing on Project MKUltra (MKUltra).15 As one of the principals of the Congressional Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Caucus, Luna has pushed for the disclosure of approximately 46 videos requested from the Defense Department.16 As of 2026-08-10, it remained unknown whether Luna would gain access to those videos.17 Phil McGraw has discussed the UAP subject with Donald Trump, Stephen Miller, Burchett and Luna.18
