Chris Ramsay

Chris Ramsay is a magician and YouTuber who hosts the DEBRIEFED video series and podcast, interviewing witnesses and researchers on UFO, UAP, and psi-related topics, and who has recounted his own reported orb sightings and out-of-body experiences.

Chris Ramsay is a magician whose main YouTube channel is focused on magic and puzzles1 and on which he performs as a magician.2 He named the channel “Area 52” partly from his handle “Chris Ramsey 52”, a reference to the 52 cards in a deck,3 and partly after the real Area 52 installation.4 Alongside this, Ramsay hosts DEBRIEFED, a video series and podcast on which he interviews witnesses, researchers, and other figures associated with the UFO and UAP field.

Ramsay has also described his own reported sightings. During an overnight flight to Germany, he said he observed multiple orange orbs illuminating clouds below the aircraft at an altitude of approximately 9,000 metres,5 though he noted the orbs did not appear to be moving, while acknowledging it was hard to tell.6 He has said he visited Christopher Bledsoe in North Carolina,7 where he saw a row of nine orange glowing orbs over the ocean, which he said resembled a description given by a Navy pilot in reporting connected to the “Immaculate Constellation” programme.8 He documented and filmed the sighting,9 and said other people who separately observed the orbs ended up calling the Coast Guard.10

Ramsay has said he practised Remote Viewing (RV) for over a year,11 and that he has spoken with physicists who have studied the practice12 as well as with people who were reportedly hired by government agencies for more than 20 years to work as professional remote viewers.13 He has said he considers remote viewing real.14 He has also said he personally investigated and came to accept Out-of-Body Experience (OBE) as something real to him.15 His first such experiences happened at his home, not at The Monroe Institute,16 at a time when he had never previously heard of out-of-body experiences.17 He entered the first one by forcing his eyes open inside a nightmare while aware it was a nightmare;18 he described his bedroom as grainy, out of focus and low in saturation,19 and said he felt a deep buzzing hum through his body, comparing the sensation to a struck tuning fork and describing it as almost euphoric.20 He said he recognised the feeling of willing himself upward from having flown in dreams before,21 and that he willed himself up out of his body, became frightened, and paddled back down to his bed.22 He had taken melatonin that night, something he does not usually do.23 Having wished for the experience to recur, he said it happened again the following night, during which he turned around and saw his own body lying on the bed.24,25 He has said he considers this state objectively different from a lucid dream, having on one occasion woken from a lucid dream directly into it,26 and that about two years before recording an episode on non-human intelligence he woke up fully awake and hovering over his own body on two consecutive nights.27 He has also said he later pursued the experience deliberately through the Gateway Process, meditating for one hour a day at around 04:30 for four months, during which he said he left his body many times,28 and that he understands the goal described by Jordan Jozak in his writing to have been getting participants out of body to build a construct for the programme’s operators.29

Through DEBRIEFED, Ramsay has covered a range of UFO- and UAP-related figures and cases. He has called Peter Khoury’s case, documented in Hair Of The Alien, the most important UFO case.30 He has said Bob Lazar worked on a programme referred to as Project Gravator,31 and recounted that Dennis Mariani would stare menacingly at Lazar for 20 minutes during bus rides to the S4 facility32 before later inviting him to see a test flight outside the site.33 Ramsay has said a former Janet Airlines co-pilot who flew into Groom Lake between roughly 1987 and 1991 reached out to him,34 and told him he had met Mariani over a dozen times before later being informed of his death.35 He has described Michael Herrera as a military whistleblower who, during a SEAL humanitarian flood mission in Indonesia, encountered an octagonal black disc hovering over trees, an episode referred to as the Michael Herrera Indonesia black disc encounter,36 during which he said unbadged military personnel were loading people, including children, into reverse-engineered craft.37 Drawing on his background in illusion, Ramsay has said he found forced-perspective imperfections in the Wedding cake Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) photographs,38 concluding that a close-up nighttime photograph of the object was a hoax, reasoning that its being sharply out of focus indicated it was very close to the camera and therefore very small.39 He has also said that although public coverage of the alien abduction phenomenon appears to have dissipated, many abductees he speaks to maintain it is still happening today.40

In an episode on non-human intelligence, the GATE Program and psi ability, Ramsay interviewed Julia Mossbridge, described as having carried out work in the study of psi and precognition41 and as a cognitive neuroscientist.42 The episode also noted that Mossbridge had taken part in the gifted programme Students on Active Research (SOAR).43
