Dana White

Dana White is a former Pentagon spokeswoman and Trump administration political appointee who told Politico that the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) existed and was run by Luis Elizondo, a statement a Pentagon colleague later said he could not confirm.

Dana White was a Pentagon spokeswoman and Trump administration political appointee who, in comments to Politico in December 2017, confirmed that the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) existed and was run by Luis Elizondo.¹

White made the statement while serving as a Pentagon spokesperson.¹ According to a 2024 account of the Pentagon’s UAP-related work, the Politico article reporting White’s confirmation described her as having verified Elizondo’s role in the programme.²

Her account of the programme was not corroborated by all of her colleagues. The Pentagon spokesperson Christopher Sherwood said he could not confirm White’s statement that AATIP existed and was run by Elizondo.³

White left her Pentagon post in 2019. She resigned earlier that year amid an internal probe into charges of misconduct.⁴
