Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State and the Democratic nominee in the 2016 United States presidential election1, running for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign against Republican nominee Donald Trump, to whom she lost in November 20162.
On entering the White House in 1993, both Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton took a strong interest in Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP)3. Journalist Ross Coulthart has suggested that Bill Clinton’s interest in the subject may explain why Hillary Clinton was later determined to get to the truth about it herself when she ran for the presidency4. A photograph taken in 1995 shows her conspicuously carrying the book Are We Alone? by Australian professor Paul Davies, a gift from Laurance Rockefeller5. Jesse Mitchells has separately described a photograph, apparently taken at USA, Maryland, Camp David, of her holding the book Are We Alone? (book by Paul Davies), there identifying Davies as a University of Arizona physicist6. In Jason Samosa’s assessment, there is evidence that Clinton was trying to open doors on the Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) subject during Bill Clinton’s administration7. Rockefeller was very close with the Clintons and constantly tried to interest them in UFO disclosure8.
John Podesta served as chief of staff to President William J. Clinton, counselor to President Barack Obama, and campaign manager to Hillary Clinton9. He has also been described as her campaign chief of staff10, and Podesta and Clinton talked a great deal about UFOs around the 2016 election11. Speaking from the campaign trail in March 2016, Podesta said he had talked to Clinton about the issue, that people really wanted to know what the government knew, and that classified UAP files remained that could be declassified12.
During her own campaign, Clinton said she would consider a taskforce to investigate the USA, Nevada, Area 51 military base, long linked to UFO/UAP conspiracies13. She also said she conceded it was possible Earth had been visited by aliens and pledged to make getting to the bottom of the UFO mystery a priority in her administration14. During the election, Clinton was performing well against Trump and was promising to release information about UFOs15.
At a press conference in Florida on 2016-07-28, Trump invited Russia to hack Clinton’s email account, saying: “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press."16 Jason Samosa said that, according to Jim Semivan, a non-state intelligence network was responsible for the Hack of John Podesta’s emails leak, one he said was decisive in putting Trump into office and keeping Clinton out17.
