Sam Khoury is the older brother of Peter Khoury, by ten years1. On the night of 1988-07-12, Sam had asked Peter to watch a film in Peter’s bedroom so that Sam could watch television in the television room instead2; that night, Peter and their father were watching television at about 11 p.m. while Sam slept in Peter’s room3. This was the setting for what became known as the 1988 Peter Khoury bedroom hooded entity encounter: before he was inserted with a device and lost consciousness, Peter had been fighting paralysis and trying to scream out for his father and Sam, unable to voice the words though he could think them4.
When Peter regained consciousness, he found his father and Sam asleep in the television room and had to wake Sam, who appeared dazed5. Sam and their father had been unusually deeply asleep that night, which was atypical since Sam was normally a very light sleeper6. Sam was initially sceptical of Peter’s account, but came to accept it after recognising an unaccounted gap of roughly four hours, from around 10:30 or 11 p.m. to about 2:30 a.m.7.
Researcher Bill Chalker later interviewed Peter’s family, including Sam and their father, while researching Hair Of The Alien, a book about Peter’s experiences8. Peter Khoury has said that during this interview, Sam described witnessing him being floated out through the hallway by three beings during the 1988 Peter Khoury brother’s levitation witnessing event9, that Sam was frozen and unable to move to help him10, that Sam believed he was witnessing Peter’s soul being taken and thought he would never see him alive again11, and that Sam was able to see the length of the hallway because the house’s front and back doors were in perfect alignment, though he was paralysed in his chair at the time12.
Peter Khoury had not known about Sam’s account of witnessing the levitation until Sam told Chalker about it, since Sam had never told him about it directly13.
