“Skinny Bob is Real” – Lifelong Abductee Reveals Everything is episode 85 of the DEBRIEFED podcast, published 2026-04-24, in which host Chris Ramsay interviews Erik Nanstiel about his lifelong reported encounters with Greys (extraterrestrial beings). Ramsay said he believes one can learn about extraterrestrial culture, origin and technology only by speaking to an experiencer, rather than from whistleblowers, sky observations or forward-looking infrared (FLIR) footage.1 Nanstiel said his own alien abduction phenomenon experiences began when he was a baby, while his mother’s experiences began in the 1950s,2 starting in 1953 when she was nine years old and living in USA, Pennsylvania, Turtle Creek, a suburb outside USA, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh.3

Nanstiel said his childhood experiences began around April or May 1970, when he was about 15 to 16 months old, with white orbs of plasma entering his room roughly monthly for four years,4 before stopping in late 1974, when he was about five.5 He said that later in 1974 he was admitted to Lutheran General Hospital in USA, Illinois, Park Ridge after a concussion,6 where he placed his hands on his feverish roommate, Tommy, and told him he would be all better;7 Tommy’s mother later reported the fever had broken and the infection had cleared without surgery, which she called a miracle.8 Nanstiel said a similar episode followed that year when his grandfather, Sidney, collapsed gravely ill in the family’s living room in USA, Illinois, Chicago; he knelt beside him and the medical emergency ceased,9 after which his grandfather lived for almost exactly one more year.10 Nanstiel said he never performed a healing again, and believes the ability was linked to the orb activity and to childhood innocence and access to a higher consciousness.11 Ramsay recounted a comparable account from Chris Bledsoe, who wrote that he healed his dog and a Make-A-Wish child by laying on hands.12 Nanstiel said he only connected the childhood orbs to his later abductions after watching an episode of Ancient Aliens (television series) in which cast members discussed orbs on stage at AlienCon.13

Nanstiel said the first encounter in which he actually saw Greys took place on Saturday, 1994-08-20, in USA, Illinois, Wheeling, while sharing an apartment with his childhood best friend, who was away that weekend;14 he described four small creatures with ashen grey bulbous heads, big black eyes and dark coveralls, which whooshed out of his closed bedroom door.15 He said he later wondered whether the episode could have been sleep paralysis, as it fit the symptoms,16 and Ramsay said the symptoms of sleep paralysis - occurring at night, being awake, paralysed and feeling real - make it a fair assumption for some abduction-like cases.17 Nanstiel identified the four creatures as identical to those in the Skinny Bob footage (alleged Soviet alien video), which Ramsay reviewed on his channel and which depicts a being about three and a half feet (roughly 1.1 metres) tall;18 Nanstiel said he believes the original footage is authentic, though dressed up with fake scratch marks, because it matches exactly how the beings he saw looked and moved,19 and that he would stake his life on it being real.20 He said he next saw a Skinny Bob (alleged extraterrestrial being) 26 years later, in 2020, when he was 51.21 On the question of origin, Ramsay recounted that Marjorie Fish, an amateur astronomer, correlated the star map Betty Hill reported seeing during her abduction to Zeta Reticuli,22 and that Bill Herman was told by the beings he encountered that they were from Zeta Reticuli before Bob Lazar discussed the star system publicly.23 Ramsay also noted that the Greys reported by Betty and Barney Hill in the Betty and Barney Hill abduction case had different, slit-like eyes to those Nanstiel describes.24

Two weeks before his Erik Nanstiel 2020 garage grey encounter, Nanstiel said he made a poster reading “I want to remember your visit. Let me remember you. I will not harm” and taped it above his headboard.25 He said that two weeks later he woke in his garage wearing only his boxer briefs, suspended off the concrete floor and tilted forward,26 looking down at one of the small Greys.27 He said he could see his 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer to his left, along with paint cans and shelves behind the being,28 which communicated with him using actual English words in his mind,29 telling him it could not allow him to remember the visit or its superiors would know.30 He said the garage was around 4 degrees Celsius but that he felt nothing,31 and that he later found no signs on the grass and no burn marks outside, concluding whatever produced the light had not landed.32 The following week, he said, he woke to find a tall young Grey, about 1.7 metres tall, with its face right in front of his;33 after it touched its forehead to his, he said he entered a virtual dream environment resembling a Bavarian village with cobblestone streets and half-timbered architecture like downtown Germany, Bavaria, Nuremberg, despite never having visited Germany.34 In the dream, he said three small Skinny Bob-type beings appeared as three little girls in blue dresses,35 and that he had telepathy with the tall being but had to speak verbally to the girls, not initially realising they were also telepathic.36 He said that when he asked the being’s name he heard something like Sislik or Sizzleck,37 and that when he asked whether it was from Zeta Reticuli, and specifically the fourth planet, it answered yes both times.38 Ramsay described a recurring feature of screen memory as its absurdity and abstractness, suggesting the beings projecting it do not fully understand what is normal for humans,39 and Nanstiel said the screen memories eventually stopped working on him, after which he could see the Greys directly.40 During the same period, Nanstiel said he suspected the beings had also visited his severely autistic adult daughter, having found her giggling one night with a bone-dry pull-up and no reason to be awake,41 and that he was concerned they might be taking ova from her.42

Nanstiel developed a broader theory around what he described as an alien-human hybridisation programme, holding that the short Greys are a separate, engineered species functioning as worker bees, made in the image of the taller, native Zeta Reticuli Greys within roughly the last couple of thousand years.43 He theorised that in Sumerian times there were no little Greys, but that the Apkallu and other beings revered as gods were emissaries for the Greys,44 and in his book he attributed ancient astronaut theory to the Greys of Zeta Reticuli acting directly or through such emissaries.45 He pointed to cultural clues linking pyramid-building societies, including the Mississippian mounds at USA, Illinois, Cahokia and the Mesoamerican pyramids of the Maya and Aztecs,46 and theorised these societies were domesticated by the Greys to more efficiently harvest their type O blood,47 drawing a comparison to recent cattle mutilation cases documented by Linda Moulton Howe, in which carcasses are found completely exsanguinated with certain tissue removed by an apparent high-heat instrument.48 He theorised the Greys now consume bovine blood instead, owing to its close genetic resemblance to human blood, since they can no longer demand human blood en masse as he believes they once did.49 Nanstiel also recounted a legend that Dwight D Eisenhower was offered two deals: one from the Greys, offering technology to the military in exchange for the right to abduct humans and cattle within the United States from a set list, which he does not think they adhered to,50 and a second from Nordic extraterrestrials, offering to eliminate the Greys and help humanity achieve world peace at the cost of less freedom.51 He read the 2002 Crabwood crop circle as showing a halftone image of a tall Grey face, a binary message, the Orion (star system), and an admonition against the Zetas.52 Nanstiel said he was shown a map depicting three caverns beneath eastern Illinois, running from the southern tip of Lake Michigan south to USA, Illinois, Peoria,53 two of them roughly half a kilometre underground and a third, deeper cavern at close to 0.8 kilometres;54 he said he fed the design into ChatGPT, which found nothing in the geological record to disprove it and noted the local bedrock is a dolostone capable of supporting caverns.55 He said Illinois is geologically stable and that the New Madrid Fault has been largely quiet,56 and speculated there could be further facilities under Lake Michigan itself, noting a reported stone henge found under USA, Michigan, Grand Traverse Bay.57 He said he was disturbed by the thought that tens of thousands of hybrids might be living underground beneath Illinois,58 describing them as mostly human but with larger heads and neurology reflecting the tall Greys, making them telepathic and possibly incapable of human speech.59 Despite criticism of the show, Nanstiel said he loves Ancient Aliens (television series).60

Nanstiel described a further encounter, which he dated to around 2022-07, as part of his Erik Nanstiel 2022 arm surgery encounter; he said he woke lying on a metal table about 1.96 metres long, longer than he is tall,61 and found his left arm missing above the elbow, cleanly severed with no blood on the table,62 the severed limb lying on a nearby cart with the humerus protruding and no blood around it.63 He said his arm was later restored with no scarring, but that his elbow swelled and froze at a 90-degree bend for a month,64 and that a week after the encounter a tall Grey ran its hands over the same elbow.65 He believes the beings took bone marrow from his humerus,66 and said he used ChatGPT to check that the symptoms and recovery period of bone marrow extraction matched what he experienced,67 though an x-ray his girlfriend took at the time showed no seam or cut on the bone, only minor arthritis.68 Nanstiel dated his last remembered encounter to 2024-03, as part of his Erik Nanstiel 2024 alcohol grey encounter, during which he said the Greys conveyed to him the words “you shouldn’t drink alcohol”;69 he said he swore at them in response and lost consciousness,70 and that in the weeks afterwards he found he hated the taste of the same cocktail and lost his desire to drink.71 He said his encounter wave ran from 2020 to 2024, and that he does not expect the Greys to return for another 18 years.72 Among the incidents he described involving the alien semen extraction device (pyramidal cone), Nanstiel said the Greys used a black, three-sided pyramidal cone device, shaped like an open athletic cup, placed over his genitals to trigger ejaculation while he was awake for only about 15 seconds;73 he later made a 3D-printed recreation of the device,74 and said he believes he is the only person to have described it.75 Separately, he said that in 1995 he trained himself using astral projection techniques to attempt separation from his body,76 succeeding twice but finding the experience so unsettling that he does not want to repeat it;77 he maintains that his abductions, by contrast, were always physical rather than non-physical, citing the physical after-effects, distinguishing them from an out-of-body experience (OBE).78 He said he uses his real name publicly despite the professional risk, since employers researching his name online might dismiss him as a “UFO nut”.79 Ramsay drew a parallel to Michael Herrera, a military whistleblower who described the Michael Herrera Indonesia black disc encounter during a humanitarian flood mission, saying his team encountered an octagonal black disc and was confronted by unbadged personnel loading people, including children, into reverse-engineered craft.8081 Nanstiel said he intends to keep writing books about the Greys, combining his own research with speculative science to understand them further.82
