Others have connected zero-point energy to broader theoretical frameworks. Richard C. Tom DeLonge has made public claims that the US government already knew the secrets of free energy, so-called zero-point energy,¹⁴ and said that one inch of air could power the United States for hundreds of years.¹⁵ When Joe Rogan pressed DeLonge on who exactly was telling him these secrets, DeLonge replied that Rogan did not know what he knew and that he could not tell him some of what he knew.¹⁶ Journalist Ross Coulthart has described zero-point energy as energy drawn from the quantum vacuum, offering the capacity to draw unlimited amounts of energy through an understanding of quantum science not yet fully explained in the public domain.¹⁷ Coulthart has also said he considers that the development of zero-point energy would be an ontological shock to humanity and particularly to the markets, and would probably wipe out every top 100 company on the American stock exchange overnight,¹⁸ and that he considers many wealthy business people do not want the public to have free energy.¹⁹
